The artist JR visited women in various war torn and poverty-stricken communities in Africa to listen to the stories of their lives and to take their portraits.  He wanted to highlight the spirit of the women in these communities and put individual faces to the problems we all know exist, but have a difficult time conceptualizing. JR then enlarged his photos and posted them all around the communities in which the women live in order to recognize their courage and dignity. And he brought his photos back to the western world and created a website to bring the plight of these women to the attention of the world at large. It’s amazing work. Another really great wedding photo from a wedding held at the Santa Barbara Zoo.  I just love this!  And, yes, maybe I have weddings on the brain – but I do have an entire wedding of my own to plan at some point! Maybe we could get a giraffe at our wedding…..hmmmm….
